Really really stupid stuff!

Kickbee: tweeting from the womb:
kickbee

It has come to my attention that there is a whole lot of really really stupid baby stuff available, including the above baffling item of non-sensical frippery.

Speaking as a Father, I understand that pregnancy and having a baby is a very exciting time for parents, and that feeling the baby kick is the beginning of the strong bonds between mother and child. However, why would you want to broadcast this information to the entire world? Who is actually interested enough to feel the need to know instantly every time it happens? Why do we feel the need to share such things with everyone all the time?

Wouldn't it be better to write a blog about it?

  1. In defense of those who may wish to tweet every time their baby hiccups, Stephen Fry tweeted a video of his unwrapped Ipad... Is that so different...?

  2. As long as he doesn't download the app that tweets every time the iPad hiccups, that's fine by me.

  3. That's what you get with a system that rewards the latent feeling of entitlement and encourages the servicing of the Capitalist beast with patently masturbatory products. Of course, if *you* are interested then *everyone* is interested, because anyone who doesn't think like you is *wrong*. That goes for virtually any thought about parenting in our society too.

To whit: "My baby was weaned at four months and it did him no harm" - Yes, but science suggests that most children will run the risk of death from solid food at that point if you exclusively breastfeed.

Also, gotta make money in a recession.

    Am I ranting now?
